Membership

It is not a question of price.
It is a question of the person.

StartupMasons does not sell access. The order admits builders on character and contribution. You apply, the Council reads, and the terms of membership are shared with those who are received.

The measure of a member

Six qualities we look for.

Every application is read against these. They cannot be bought, and they are the reason the rooms of the Lodge are worth entering.

01

Build consciousness

You understand that to build is to take responsibility. What you make outlives the making of it.

02

Integrity

Your word holds without a contract behind it. In the Lodge this is the only currency that counts.

03

Contribution

You give before you ask. You are measured here by what you add, never by what you claim.

04

Discipline of the craft

You do the unglamorous work for years. You know shortcuts are borrowed, not earned.

05

The long horizon

You think in decades, not quarters. You would rather be right in ten years than loud this one.

06

Purpose

You know why you build and who it serves. You can answer why you are here without a slide.

What is asked of you

Membership is an obligation before it is a benefit.

  • 01Be present — the Lodge is kept alive by attendance, not intention.
  • 02Teach the ones behind you. Every Master was carried by someone.
  • 03Keep what is said in the rooms inside the rooms.
  • 04Bring real work and real questions. Posturing is the one thing not tolerated.
The four levels

You are not sorted by payment. You rise by contribution.

Every member enters as an Apprentice. The levels above are reached through work recognised by the order.

Level 1

Apprentice

The entry of every builder. You are here to learn the craft.

How it is reached

Show up, listen, and begin contributing in the open rooms.

Within reach
  • The common rooms of the Lodge
  • Open discussions among builders
  • Foundational readings of the craft
  • Selected gatherings
Level 2

Craftsman

For those actively building, and visibly committed.

How it is reached

  • Collaboration among members
  • Members-only masterclasses
  • The full knowledge library
Level 3

Master Builder

For builders who have carried something all the way through.

  • Invitation-only dinners
  • Advisory opportunities
  • A leadership role in the order
  • Warm introductions among Masters
  • Priority mentorship
Level 4

Grand Lodge

For those whose work has shaped an industry.

How it is reached

By invitation of the Grand Lodge only.

What is expected

Steward the order and the generations that follow.

Within reach
  • The global council of the order
  • Strategic partnership curation
  • Legacy projects and coalitions
  • Retreats and closed councils

The terms of contribution for each level are shared upon acceptance. The order is sustained by its members, never by its visitors.

The path in

Three steps, read by people.

01

Your application

You tell us what you are building, and why it matters to you.

02

The Council reviews

Members of the Council read every application. Character first, traction second.

03

Admission

If accepted, you are received into the order and the terms of membership are shared with you.

If this is how you already build,
you belong here.

Begin your application

Reviewed by the Council. No payment is asked before admission.
